Psalms

Psalms gathers the worship, lament, confession, thanksgiving, wisdom, and royal hope of God's people into a single book of prayer. Across joy and collapse, exile and confidence, guilt and praise, it teaches the faithful how to speak honestly before God while waiting for his reign and salvation.

Within the canon, Psalms serves as scripture's prayer book and songbook, shaping both personal devotion and public worship. It gives voice to the whole range of covenant life, but again and again it returns to the same center: the LORD is worthy of trust, near to the broken, righteous in judgment, and the final refuge of his people.
