Chapter 26

Vindicate Me, O LORD

This psalm asks the LORD to vindicate David on the basis of an upright walk and trusting heart, inviting divine examination while contrasting his life with deceitful and violent people. It moves from protestation of integrity to delight in worship, then ends with a plea not to share the fate of the wicked and with confidence that his feet stand on level ground among the assembled people of God.

Psalm 26 presents integrity not as self-sufficient pride but as a life lived before the LORD's searching gaze and centered on his house. It joins moral separation from evil, love for worship, and a final appeal for redemption, making public praise the fitting outcome of a blameless walk upheld by grace.
