The LORD Has Chosen Zion
The psalm asks the LORD to remember David's hardship and his oath to find a resting place for the Mighty One of Jacob, refusing his own comfort until that task was done. It then recalls hearing of the ark, calls the people to worship at the LORD's footstool, and prays that the LORD would arise to his resting place, clothe his priests with righteousness, and not turn away from his anointed for David's sake.

The second half answers with the LORD's own oath to David and his choice of Zion as his desired dwelling forever. From there the promises multiply: provision for Zion's poor, salvation for her priests, joy for her saints, a horn and lamp for David, and shame for his enemies while the crown upon the chosen one continues to shine.
