Make a Joyful Noise
A1 Psalm of thanksgiving. 2Serve the LORD with gladness; 3Know that the LORD is God.
4Enter His gates with thanksgiving 5For the LORD is good,
This brief thanksgiving psalm calls all the earth into joyful service and confident worship before the LORD. It grounds that joy in the knowledge that the LORD alone is God, the Maker of his people and the Shepherd who claims them as his own. The psalm ends by inviting worshipers to enter his gates with praise because his goodness, steadfast love, and faithfulness endure through every generation.
Psalm 100 is one of the Psalter's clearest entry songs for public worship. It gathers theology and liturgy into a compact confession: the LORD is God, his people belong to him, and his enduring covenant love makes thanksgiving the fitting response.
