Chapter 101

I Will Set No Worthless Thing before My Eyes

In this royal psalm, David joins praise with resolve, promising to walk with integrity and to order his house and rule with moral clarity. The chapter moves through what he will reject, what he will welcome, and how he will use authority against deceit and wickedness, so that private conduct and public justice remain bound together before the LORD.

Psalm 101 stands out in the Psalter as a ruler's vow about character and governance. It fits the book's larger concern for righteousness by showing that devotion to the LORD must take visible form in the habits of the heart, the life of the house, and the administration of the city.
