Chapter 30

You Turned My Mourning into Dancing

This psalm praises the LORD for lifting David up, healing him, and not letting his enemies rejoice over him. It recalls the contrast between fleeting anger and enduring favor, remembers how false security gave way to panic when God hid his face, and celebrates the divine reversal that turned mourning into dancing so that praise would not be silent.

Psalm 30 is a song of rescue and reversal. It teaches that life with God includes discipline, distress, and pleading, yet his favor restores joy and turns lament into thanksgiving, making praise the proper response to deliverance.
