Chapter 32

The Joy of Forgiveness

This psalm opens by declaring the blessedness of the one whose sin is forgiven, covered, and no longer counted against him. It contrasts the misery of concealed sin with the relief of confession, then turns outward into instruction about prayer, divine guidance, and the difference between the sorrows of the wicked and the steadfast love that surrounds those who trust in the LORD.

Psalm 32 is a wisdom song about confession and forgiveness. It teaches that silence over sin wastes a person away, but honest acknowledgment before God leads to pardon, protection, and a life shaped by teachable trust rather than stubborn resistance.
