Broken Bondage
The psalm opens by declaring the LORD great and worthy of praise in the city of God, on his holy mountain. Zion is celebrated as beautiful in loftiness and joy for all the earth, and because God dwells in her citadels he is known there as a sure fortress.

The hostile kings gather together, but the moment they see Zion they are astonished, panic, and flee, seized with anguish like a woman in labor and shattered like ships broken by an east wind. What the worshipers had heard about the city of the LORD of hosts they now see confirmed: God himself establishes it forever.
4For behold, the kings assembled; 5They saw and were astounded; 6Trembling seized them there, 7With a wind from the east 8As we have heard, so we have seen
Within God's temple the worshipers meditate on his steadfast love, recognizing that his name and praise extend to the ends of the earth. Because his right hand is filled with righteousness, Mount Zion and the daughters of Judah rejoice in his judgments.
9Within Your temple, O God, 10Your name, O God, like Your praise, 11Mount Zion is glad,
The psalm ends by urging the people to walk around Zion, count her towers, and inspect her ramparts and citadels so they can report her security to the next generation. The reason for that testimony is clear: this God is their God forever and ever, and he himself will guide them always.
