Psalms 70:1-5·~1 min

Hurry, O LORD, to Help Me!

The psalm opens with a plea for God to hurry in delivering and helping the speaker. David asks that those who seek his life be put to shame and confusion, that those who desire his hurt be turned back in dishonor, and that mockers who say, "Aha, aha," recoil in disgrace.

In contrast to the enemies' shame, David asks that all who seek God rejoice and be glad in him and that lovers of God's salvation continually say, "Let God be magnified." He then ends personally and plainly: he is poor and needy, God is his help and deliverer, and the Lord must not delay.
