Mark
Mark presents Jesus with urgency and clarity. John prepares the way, and Jesus appears in baptism, wilderness testing, preaching, healing, and conflict. He calls disciples, teaches in parables, feeds crowds, quiets storms, restores the unclean and the afflicted, and sets his face toward Jerusalem. The Gospel keeps drawing attention to his authority, the misunderstanding around him, and the road of suffering, death, burial, and resurrection that leads to his vindication.
Within the New Testament, Mark gives a swift and concentrated account of Jesus’ ministry, especially his authority, secrecy, suffering, and resurrection. It gathers the shape of the Gospel in motion, from Galilee to the cross and the empty tomb, and presents discipleship under the pressure of fear, misunderstanding, and faithful witness.
