The Sabbath Offerings
The Sabbath requires two extra lambs with grain and drink offerings, added to the regular burnt offering. The holy day is marked by increased sacrifice rather than a different system.
O9n the Sabbath day, present two unblemished year-old male lambs, accompanied by a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, as well as a drink offering. 10This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.
Section summaryEach Sabbath brings an additional burnt offering beyond the daily pattern. Two more lambs, with their grain and drink offerings, mark the day as distinct without replacing the regular sacrifice.
Role in the chapterThis section shows how sacred time is layered rather than separated from the daily rhythm. Sabbath worship is set apart by addition, not by interruption of the continual offering.
