Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

Jesus says the disciples will all fall away that night and cites Scripture, then names his resurrection and return to Galilee. Peter insists he will never fall away, but Jesus says Peter will deny him three times before the rooster crows. Peter and the others repeat their pledge of loyalty.

T31hen Jesus said to them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written: 32But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” 33Peter said to Him, “Even if all fall away on account of You, I never will.” 34“Truly I tell you,” Jesus declared, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” 35Peter replied, “Even if I have to die with You, I will never deny You.” And all the other disciples said the same thing.
