Matthew 10:32-33·~1 min
Confessing Christ
Jesus links public confession with his own confession before the Father, and public denial with his denial before the Father. The issue is direct and personal.
T32herefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven. 33But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven.
Section summaryJesus sets confession and denial before men in relation to his own confession or denial before the Father. Public allegiance to him is matched by his acknowledgment in heaven, while public refusal draws the opposite response.
Role in the chapterThis brief section brings the issue to a single dividing line. Speech before people carries heavenly weight because Jesus stands between the disciple and the Father.
