The Seventh Trumpet

When the seventh trumpet sounds, heaven declares that the kingdom of the world belongs to the Lord and His Christ forever. The twenty-four elders fall down in worship, thanking God for taking His great power and beginning to reign. They also announce that the time has come for the nations' rage to meet divine wrath, for the dead to be judged, for God's servants to be rewarded, and for the destroyers of the earth to be destroyed. Then heaven's temple opens and the ark of the covenant appears, followed by the familiar signs of storm, quake, and hail. The paragraph closes the chapter with the certainty that God's covenant rule now moves openly toward final judgment and reward.
