Jesus’ Mother and Brothers

While Jesus is still speaking, his mother and brothers wait outside and ask to see him. Jesus answers by pointing to his disciples and naming as his family those who do the will of his Father in heaven.

W46hile Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. 47Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” 48But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?” 49Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers. 50For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
