The Desolation of Israel
Though the trumpet is blown and all is made ready, no one goes into battle because divine wrath rests on the whole multitude. Sword waits outside, while famine and plague consume within; survivors escape only to mourn like doves over their own iniquity. Strength fails, knees melt, sackcloth covers them, and shame falls over every face.

Silver and gold are thrown into the streets because wealth cannot rescue anyone in the day of the LORD's wrath. The beauty once turned into pride and idolatrous images becomes defilement, handed over to strangers and the wicked as plunder. God turns His face away while invaders profane His treasured place.
19They will throw their silver into the streets, 20His beautiful ornaments 21And I will hand these things over 22I will turn My face away from them,
The land is full of bloodshed and violence, so chains are forged and the worst of the nations are brought in to seize houses and silence the proud. Anguish comes without peace; disaster piles upon disaster, and every source of guidance fails as vision, law, and counsel disappear. King, prince, and people alike are undone, and God repays them according to their own ways so they will know He is the LORD.
23Forge the chain, 24So I will bring the most wicked of nations 25Anguish is coming! 26Disaster upon disaster will come, 27The king will mourn,
