The Descendants of Manasseh

Manasseh’s line begins with Asriel and moves through Machir, whose household connections and wife Maacah are noted. From Maacah come Peresh and Sheresh, and Sheresh’s sons continue the branch.

T14he descendants of Manasseh: Asriel 15Machir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. The name of his sister was Maacah. 16Machir’s wife Maacah gave birth to a son, and she named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rekem.

Ulam’s son and the sons of Gilead are named, then Hammolecheth and Shemida’s descendants are added. The genealogy spreads through several connected family lines within Manasseh.

17The son of Ulam: 18These were the sons of Gilead son of Machir, the son of Manasseh. His sister Hammolecheth gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah. 19And these were the sons of Shemida:
