the prophecy of one who hears the words of God,
from Balaam’s Third Oracle, Numbers 24:1-9
What it says

He describes himself as one who hears God’s words and sees the vision of the Almighty, fallen down yet with opened eyes. The oracle claims revelatory authority.

What it is doing

It grounds the blessing in God-given sight rather than Balaam’s own will.
