Jeremiah 15:19-21·~1 min
The LORD’s Promise
The LORD tells Jeremiah that if he returns, he will stand again before Him, and if he brings forth what is precious rather than worthless, he will speak for God. Though the people may fight against him, the LORD will make him a fortified bronze wall and will rescue and redeem him from the grasp of the wicked.
T19herefore this is what the LORD says: 20Then I will make you a wall to this people, 21I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked
Section summaryThe final movement answers Jeremiah's complaint with both correction and recommissioning. The prophet must return, separate what is precious from what is worthless, and refuse to be pulled down to the people's level; then the LORD will again make him a fortified wall and will remain with him to save and deliver him from the wicked.
Role in the chapterThis section restores direction after Jeremiah's destabilizing lament. It shows that God's promise to the prophet is inseparable from the prophet's own renewed fidelity in speech and posture.
