God’s Mercies Recalled

The speaker begins to recount the LORD's loyal love and praiseworthy acts, remembering that He called Israel His people and became their Savior. In all their distress He identified with them and redeemed them in love, carrying them through former days, yet they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit so that their Savior became their opponent in judgment.

I7 will make known the LORD’s loving devotion 8For He said, “They are surely My people, 9In all their distress, He too was afflicted, 10But they rebelled

The people remember the days of Moses, asking where the God is who brought them through the sea, placed His Holy Spirit among them, and led them with His glorious arm. He guided them safely like a horse through the wilderness and gave them rest like cattle descending into a valley, making for Himself a glorious name through His shepherding care.

11Then His people remembered the days of old, 12who sent His glorious arm 13who led them through the depths 14Like cattle going down to the valley,
