Chapter 62

Zion’s Salvation and New Name

Isaiah 62 speaks with relentless zeal for Zion, refusing silence until her righteousness shines before the nations and her salvation burns like a torch. The chapter then celebrates Zion's new identity and public vindication: no longer forsaken but delightfully claimed by God, guarded by watchmen who never stop praying, secured by the LORD's sworn promise, and heralded to the ends of the earth as the holy, redeemed, and sought-out people of God.

This chapter matters because it shows that Zion's restoration is not tentative or private but passionately pursued by God until it is visible to all nations. Isaiah 62 joins prayer, divine promise, covenant delight, and public renaming to portray redemption as the transformation of a disgraced city into a cherished and unmistakably redeemed people.
