Ephesians

Ephesians traces God's purpose in Christ from eternal blessing and redemption to the making of one new humanity and one holy dwelling through the Spirit. Paul moves from election, grace, reconciliation, and the revealed mystery of Gentile inclusion into prayer for fullness, then turns to a worthy walk marked by unity, maturity, holiness, love, ordered households, spiritual strength, and steadfast prayer. The letter keeps returning to the church as Christ's body, filled by his life and called to display God's wisdom.

Within Paul's letters, Ephesians offers one of the New Testament's fullest visions of life in Christ and life together in the church. Its place is to hold cosmic purpose and ordinary conduct together, showing that the gospel creates a reconciled people whose unity, holiness, and perseverance arise from God's grace and Christ's exalted rule.
