Hosea 13:14
I will ransom them from the power of Sheol;
from Death and Resurrection, Hosea 13:9-14
What it says

The LORD speaks of ransoming from Sheol and redeeming from death, calling for death's plagues and the grave's destruction while compassion is concealed.

What it is doing

This verse places death itself under God's command, making the chapter's judgment language strangely open toward divine reversal.

In context

9You are destroyed, O Israel, 10Where is your king now 11So in My anger I gave you a king, 12The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; 13Labor pains come upon him, 14I will ransom them from the power of Sheol;
